Welcome to my kitchen!
Hi! My name is Kati, and I’m passionate about cooking, though it wasn’t always that way. For most of my early adult life, cooking meant microwaving a frozen dinner or adding boiling water to something from a box. It wasn’t until I got married that I started eating real food because I married a guy who cooks. I joined him in the kitchen and realized that cooking could be fun. Eating real food was really fun. And gaining confidence as a home chef? That was life-changing!
Here are five reasons I think you’ll love my blog, whether you’re a seasoned chef or just starting out:
1-Great recipes: You’ll find only the recipes I truly love. If I wouldn’t eat it or serve it, you won’t find it here.
2-Step-by-step instructions with photos: I include plenty of photos to guide you through each step of the recipe, removing uncertainty.
3-Helpful tips and techniques: I share skills and tips that make cooking faster, easier, and better.
4-Bloopers: Cooking mishaps happen. Learn from my mistakes and laugh along with me. It’s just food—if it doesn’t turn out, try again!
5-Fun!: Cooking should be enjoyable from start to finish, including making a mess.
When I’m not planning my next meal, cooking, or enjoying my latest creation, I work as a freelance writer and editor. I’ve written about everything from medical devices to travel. For fun, I love golfing, swing dancing, and traveling. I’ve visited over 30 countries, bringing back culinary inspiration from each trip. I’m also a former skydiver with over 700 jumps and enjoy trying new and exotic foods.
If you try one of my recipes or techniques and love it (or even if you don’t), let me know. Feel free to share any of my recipes, posts, or photos—just credit my blog. I always aim to give credit to my sources too. It’s good food karma.
